Yokohama is pleased to announce that a car running on its ADVAN global flagship brand tires was the overall winner of Round 8 of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS) 2025 held in Germany on September 14. YOKOHAMA ADVAN racing tires provided the excellent grip and durability needed to win the grueling endurance race.

The overall winner was the No. 6 Ford Mustang GT3 entered by Haupt Racing Team (HRT) in the top-level SP9 Pro class and driven by Vincent Kolb and Frank Stippler. After qualifying in 10th place, the No. 6 car moved up to 3rd place on the final’s first lap and then joined a fierce battle among the leading cars from the middle of the race. With three laps remaining, the No. 6 Ford Mustang GT3 took the lead following a slip by a rival team and then maintained a high pace while avoiding trouble as it raced to the checkered flag more than two minutes ahead of the second-place car. The victory is HRT’s first win in this year’s NLS and the first for a Ford in 10 years.

Yokohama is partnering with HRT in this year’s NLS which began in March and is supplying its ADVAN A005 tires for dry conditions and ADVAN A006 tires for wet conditions. An HRT car running on ADVAN tires also was the winner in the SP9 PRO-AM class (4th place overall) at this year’s ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring held in June. Victories in two endurance races that are among the world’s most demanding tire competitions, provide evidence of ADVAN tires’ superior performance and further enhance YOKOHAMA ADVAN’s brand power.

The NLS is an endurance racing series held each year at Nürburgring, one of the world’s most challenging race circuits. This year’s NLS includes 10 races, culminating in October. In the 2023 NLS, a car running on YOKOHAMA tires captured the NLS Speed Trophy and the NIMEX Team Trophy in the NLS’ highest SP9 Pro class.

The consumer tire strategy in Yokohama Rubber’s three-year (2024–2026) medium-term management plan, Yokohama Transformation 2026 (YX2026), aims to maximize the sales ratios of high-value-added tires by expanding sales of YOKOHAMA’s global flagship ADVAN brand, the GEOLANDAR brand of tires for SUVs and pickup trucks, winter tires, and 18-inch and larger tires. Yokohama Rubber positions participation in motorsports activities as crucial to its effort to further strengthen the ADVAN and GEOLANDAR brands. Yokohama Rubber therefore is again participating in a wide variety of motorsports events around the globe, from top-category to grassroots events.
