Role Overview
The candidate will join the Yokohama Italy Finance team with a key role in managing accounting operations and supporting financial reporting and compliance activities.
The position requires a high level of autonomy and ownership, contributing to the accuracy of financial data, the efficiency of processes, and the continuous improvement of the Finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting activities (accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger)
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with local GAAP and company policies
- Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
- Perform and review account reconciliations (bank accounts, balance sheet items)
- Prepare financial reports and support variance analysis and management reporting
- Monitor costs and support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and external regulations
- Act as a key point of contact for internal and external audits
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g. Sales, Procurement, HR) to ensure financial alignment
- Identify and drive process improvements and automation initiatives
- Support the implementation and optimization of ERP systems and finance tools
Requirements & Experience
- Degree in Economics, Finance, or related field
- 3–5+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience in month-end closing and financial statements preparation
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft 365 tools
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Infor), knowledge of SAP Business One is a plus
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Good command of English
